Family Walk

I've decided I could really get used to Kodiak in the winter! I think its 40* today. Although I hear that Kodiak in the summer is only about 10* warmer...

After sleeping in and having a scrumptious breakfast of Pumpkin Pecan Pancakes (Seriously - Yum!), we decided to walk to the commissary to buy the molasses that we need to make gingerbread houses. It's only about a mile away and it's a beautiful misty day. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. Jacob is great with his brothers. He loves little kids. I get many comments from people about what a good kid Jacob is and especially how good he is with children. He's going to make a great dad someday. (Of course he has an amazing example!)

That's Josh and Sam up there. They were participating in covert ops back there in the woods.

I'm still getting used to the orange and white of the Coast Guard. How cool is this helo with the boats behind it?

This building is located at the front gate. I love the way it looks... perfect for a Coast Guard Base.
Well... I'm off to make gingerbread while Jake hangs Christmas lights outside. I'd call this a very productive Saturday. Hopefully I'll even get the 7 loads of laundry piled on my couch folded!

I want to see pictures of the ginger bread houses when they are done. That sounds so fun. You guys always do such fun things together.
